Two years ago, the teachers brought us to Sovereign Hill at Ballarat. The Winter was almost at its end when we went there. Gold flakes shimmered in the clear river under the sun. Calm waters flowed down the stream gently. I could hear birds chirping in the distance. The cool breeze brushed my face. Trees swayed back and forth in the wind. I ran around playfully enjoying the bright sunlight. We would play games on the hill as we waited for the teachers. My friends would spend tireless hours trying to find some gold. Large birds spied on us from far away. My earliest moments were filled with images of my friends laughing their heads off. Today, I stand at the same exact spot I stood two years ago.
